  • What will the participants do at SDA Summer Camp
The question here is what will they NOT do. The foundation of SDA Summer Camp is to teach each campee the art of sewing. On day one the group will learn the various features of the sewing machine, how to properly thread their machine, and create their first straight & zig-zag stitches. After this sewing 101 intro, the ladies will progress to work on a project over the next 3 days. Projects vary from creating pillow cases, tote bags, leggings, and etc. In addition to the sewing skill set the participants will learn, each young lady will be exposed to a variety of creative careers through visitin speakkers and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Is SDA Summer Camp & Mentorship Programs only open to girls?
The SDA Summer Camp is only open to young ladies who are residents of VA however the Mentorship program is available to all genders. Ideally for the Mentorship Program, it is best that the mentees live in VA until SDA is able to branch into new states.
